Another day, no BM.....I never thought I would want to see a dirty diaper so badly in my life. We went into the MRI early this AM and that went off without a hitch. The rest of the day was spent waiting, to no avail. John is staying with Eli tonight as he has the past couple of nights....I think this week I have hit a wall emotionally and need some recharging. Spending some quality time at night with Jake and Sam should help. We are trying a last ditch effort with a laxative put directly into Eli's stomach through a tube. If that doesn't work, we may have to go with a supository which is risky with a kid with such a compromised immune system. On a better note, the oncologist said that the tests on the bone marrow from last week show only 4% blasts in his marrow, which is promising!!! They will do another bone marrow on day 29 and that will set the tone for the remainder of the treatment.

Hey Maria,
I was thinking about the BM issue. One thing a nurse told me when I had Caleb was to take my hand and make a clockwise circle around his torso. Start at the stomach (below rib cage) and move clockwise down to the belly button and back around. You must go clockwise because that is the route of digestion. It worked for my babies and my kids still ask me to do it at times. It's relaxing, comforting and helps w/ the digestive stuff.
It was good to see you Thurs. I regret I was not more of a help or encouragement. I thought you looked good, esp. considering what you're carrying. Keep walking, my friend, you are doing so well! Our constant prayers and thoughts are with you all.
Ish. 40:28-31 = God does not grow weary and nor do we in approaching God's throne on behalf of your family.
We love you!

I don't think I've waited so much to HEAR about a dirty diaper!
My little sister is a massage therapist and she says the same thing about the abdomin massage. Sure can't hurt.
Maria, I think about you and Eli all the time. You and John are unbelievably strong. We continue to pray for you all, hoping you get some rest and comfort.
Love and peace.
I hope you had a pleasant night with Sam and Jake. We look forward to the posting of an explosion of sorts just off Rutledge Avenue. I am glad to hear the Drs. are pleased with the bone marrow count. You are in our constant thoughts and prayers. You may not feel strong but you amaze all of us with your strength and will and grace.
Love,
Jane
