Today's counts were ANC 163, hemoglobin 10.7, and platelets 109.

We are glad to repot that Eli's ANC has improved but we need to see it improve a few days in row to know he it is really headed in the right direction. On another more sad front Maria's grandmother passed away today. She was 92 years old and live an incredible full life which we celebrate today. She was a blessing to all us (even though she has been sick for a while and we really have not spent as much time with her as we wish we could have). While when this happens it is always tough, one of the blessings is that Maria and her sister were able to be there with her in the end. Please pass along your prayers for Maria's dad and his brothers during this time.

Thanks for checking in.

John on behalf on Maria

We are thankful Eli's improvement, a long life well lived, and for so many thoughtful and caring friends (and on a much less important note -- Go Tigers!! 2-0).

John,
Thanks for the good news first. Eli's numbers are finally heading up! Maybe Maria's grandmother had something to do with that? I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I know Maria has great memories of her.
Hang in there, Crowley family! You have so many people routing for you and sending prayers you way. Maria is so correct - I'm inspired to write our congressman about more funding for research. You guys will turn this into some kind of good afterall.

Dear Maria and John,

So sorry to hear about all this stuff you've all been going through, with Eli's counts & hospitalization, his infection, the relapse scare, Maria's grandmother, etc... These are tough times, but things will get better. They are getting better already, with the definitive "no relapse" results, and with Eli's counts climbing back up. I am really happy to hear about that. Poor little guy! I just want to reach out through cyber space and give him lots of hugs from California!!!!

Maria, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

A side note: Ryan started delayed intensification this past week. Wow, that Decadron/Prednisone is something else! He's on day five of a twenty-one day Decadron cycle...

Our poor little guys. Soon, they will have this all behind them and we will all be the stronger for it. Not to mention, we will be much more vocal advocates for pediatric cancer awareness. Yes, like your friend mentioned in the previous comment, some good will come out of this- we will definitely turn it into some kind of good.

I hope Eli's counts keep heading back up and hope you are back home soon.

Thinking of you and hoping for bluer skies soon,
Maggie

Maria;
I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I know that Eli's improvement has to do with the angel he now has sitting on his shoulder. Stay strong!!! You are doing a great job. I am so proud to say that I am your friend. I love you.
